MARY MACLEOD
Mary MacLeod has had extensive board level experience in the public and voluntary sectors and a long career in child and family welfare in public services (in Scotland), academe (North London Polytechnic and Edinburgh University) and charities (Barnardo’s and ChildLine). She was the Founding and Chief Executive of the Family and Parenting Institute (1999 to 2009).
Mary has served on many government and non-government research and policy advisory groups on children and families. She has also held a number of non-executive roles, including Interim Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Vice Chair of the Internet Watch Foundation, Deputy Chair of Cafcass, Chair of Gingerbread, Chair of the Refugee Trauma Initiative. She was also a board member of the Family Justice Council, and the UK Council for Child Internet Safety.
Mary is currently a non-executive director of the Video Standards Council and a Trustee of Columba 1400. Mary has an honorary doctorate from the Open University, and was awarded an OBE in the 2008 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
